Ferries are Closer Than You Think

Whilst sitting in the pub last night we checked on the ferries and discovered that they don't sail as often as we expected.  Twice per day at 9am or pm.  We had planned on catching the ferry back to Wales tomorrow, but the morning one is sold out and the evening one is not good as it does not leave us enough time to get to Joyce's then to the ferry to Spain.  The ferries to Spain only go twice per week and we are becoming anxious to get to the warmth.

So we are now on our way towards Wexford and hope to catch this evening's ferry.  It will get us to Milford Haven just after midnight and will will find a parking spot for the rest of the night before making for Torquay tomorrow.

The sun was oout when we got up this morning - first time since we left home - and it is becoming a beautiful day.  Hope it keeps up till we get to Spain :-)

Keep well

  1. Hi Kenwen, sounds like you're in 2 minds about how the trip is going.... I hear you about the weather, but in reverse. All the way to Tassie with our winter woollies and nearly died of heat exhaustion! Had to go to op shops and buy summer clothing. Cath was consumed by the availability of Wifi too because she was trying to finish an assignment. The reunion was great fun as was our trip around Tassie and home. Cath has finished a report for the Newsletter just waiting on permissions to use the official photographers photos I think. Anyway hopefully, the sun is out for you by now. No fighting and we look forward to hearing more about your travels. Oh and I looked it up for you: bally, balla(gh), bella(gh) bealach, in English means pass/passage if you can believe Mr Google. Happy trails or felices viajes!

what a lovely girl looking up Bally for me. I asked one of the locals and he said it was a corruption of the old word 'bailey' as in fort or keep, and just means a little town - ergo Ballypatrick is Patrick's place.

You are right, I have VERY mixed feelings about this trip - worst I have felt on all of them and it all comes down to the hassles with the IT. If I think about it in time, I check out the emails on the tablet and type up the answers to them there, but the ones going through my bigpond addresses (I have four) won't go anywhere until I have a wi-fi network Telstra approves of (and Maccas is not one of them). If I want them to go straight away, I have to do it through webmail (where my address book ISN'T!!!). It is all too difficult. I am not sure if this answer will go anywhere or not.

And I also have Kenneth, who is hopeless at IT and cannot remember anything i tell him insisting there is no problem. Maybe not if one had a wi-fi that bloody Telstra would recognise.

Am going now, 'cos he has tea on the table and i am nearly at screaming point. i don't want to eat I just want things to work simply!!!

Sorry for the rant - jusr venting.

Glad you guys had a great time in Hobart. The weather here seems to be on the improve.

    Give my regards to Cathy
