Hello all from not so sunny Wales - though to tell the truth, we can actually SEE the sun this morning! The weather has been verry cool (read 'cold') since we arrived in Manchester last Tuesday.
Everywhere has been very damp, so we are pleased to see the sun this morning.
Our flight over was long and tedious, although we cannot fault the airline - Emirates. THEY were excellent. However, having taken 27 hrs to get from go to woe, with stops at Singapore, and Dubai on the way, we were verry tired when we arrived.
It was great to see Richard's cheery face to meet us and we were glad not to have to find our way to our accommodation in the dark. Richard took us directly to one of the vans he keeps for the seasonal asparagus pickers, and we were quickly bedded down with the heating on.
We have spent 3 nights in this very convenient lodging whilst we got the van up to speed - pardon the pun. It was looking very sad as the damp had encouraged mossy gross on the outside and mould on the inside . I told you this is a damp place. However, we scrubbed down inside and out and it is feeling quite homely again . It is also amazing what effect some internal heating will bring about, and I can assure you that the heating - gas and electric - have been running hot. Forgive the pun again!!:-)
Got to go have shower now will hopefully take up story again on the ferry. Loving the many uses I am finding for the tablet.
Cheers for now
