At MacDonalds in Kilkenny for breakfast this morning.
Last night we overnighted in the city library car park. We had Wi-Fi there, but it was limited so really couldn't do anything. Checking emails and doing a quick update this morning.
Kilkenny is lovely. Lots of quaint old buildings and streets. Also a lovely castle. We have done so many already though, we didn't bother going into this one. We figure we would enjoy coming back to Kilkenny, but would give Cork a miss as it was fairly unattractive and a nightmare for driving and hopeless for parking.
We had a great night at a terrific typical large Irish pub last night. Met Lee and Patti from Alabama and enjoyed good drinks (Kenny reckons the beer is great), good company and great Irish music from two different groups in two different styles. Staggered back to the van at 11 and slept very well.
Today we are off to Carlow , which is about 45 minutes drive up the road. Not sure why, but we are in Ireland till Saturday, so we are filling in a bit of time now. Having long lunch and tea breaks! Might go to Waterford to check out the crystal works even though it is a bit out of our way. Trying to work up enthusiasm.
Easter complicates things for us a little and we have to take holiday crowds into consideration. Hoping the weather is still cool enough to keep a lot of people at home rather than in the camping parks. Free camping is frowned on in the UK. Pub car parks are very useful. We sometimes eat there but always have a drink or two to justify our presence.
Time to push off.
Keep well till next time.
